After a career in news and current affairs in London, Zeina made the transition to editing feature docs when she moved to Beirut over a decade ago.

After a career in news and current affairs in London, Zeina made the transition to editing feature docs when she moved to Beirut over a decade ago.

Since then she has dedicated her work to supporting filmmakers as they carve their vision out of mountains of material. The films she cut have screened everywhere from the Berlinale to the BBC.Her first two feature doc edits ‘Birds of September’ and ‘Home’ earned their directors first-time filmmaker awards at the Mediterranean Cinema Festival of Tétouan and FID Marseille respectively, while Hyphen, completed in 2023, won best International Documentary at the Malmo Film Festival. She joined the team of ‘In the Shadow of Beirut’ as an additional editor – the film is currently in the shortlist for two Oscar categories: Best International Feature and Best Documentary. Recently she started taking on feature film projects, editing Omar Naim’s Route Ten which premiered on Netflix in the summer of 2022 to spend weeks in the top 10 in Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and the UAE,and she just completed Sarah Francis’s first foray into the world of fiction, Dead Dog.
