In this episode of The Ajyal Show, we meet George Chalouhi, Head of Creative & Talent Management at Katara Studios, whose journey proves that sometimes the best career advice is simply: be yourself.
George didn’t start out planning to work in film. He once thought he’d be a doctor, but textbooks never quite clicked. What did? People. Conversations. Stories. That pull eventually led him to sociology and mass media, and later, to a microphone as a TV newsreader and radio host. His natural tone set him apart; he refused to put on a “broadcast voice.”
Moving deeper into the art of filmmaking and behind the lens, George became a fixer, then a 1st Assistant Director, learning lessons no textbook could teach: respect, patience, and collaboration. For him, authenticity was the key to unlocking creativity, the antidote to artificiality.
As he grew into producing, George found that success wasn’t measured by credits or titles, but by relationships built on trust. Today, at Katara Studios, he nurtures creative voices with the same principle that has guided his own journey. When you speak with sincerity, people listen; when you work with humility, teams thrive.
