Ajyal Jury Programme

Ajyal Jury Programme

Our ever-popular Ajyal Jury Programme invites young people aged 16 to 25 to experience Doha Film Festival through cinema, conversation and discovery. As Ajyal Jurors, participants watch a curated selection of international films presented within the Ajyal Film Competition and take part in guided discussions with peers from Qatar and around the world. Together, they reflect on the stories, craft and emotions that shape every film before casting their votes to recognise outstanding works through the Competition’s awards.

The programme is designed for young people who want to engage with cinema beyond the screen. It creates a welcoming space to ask questions, share perspectives and listen with openness to different points of view. Through this process, participants develop confidence in expressing their ideas and a deeper understanding of how films can speak across cultures and lived experiences. The Ajyal Jury Programme reflects DFI’s commitment to placing young voices at the heart of its work. It nurtures curiosity, empathy and creative confidence while building a community of young people connected by a shared love of storytelling.
