Explore the intersection of health and storytelling, bringing new 'Healthy Perspectives' to life through the art of filmmaking.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health, Doha Film Institute is delighted to present an immersive workshop focusing on health, inviting aspiring filmmakers, including writers, directors, and those keen on mastering technical crew roles like camera operation, lighting, sound, and editing to embark on the journey of creating their own short films.

Under the mentorship of acclaimed filmmaker Corine Shawi, this hands-on programme provides a comprehensive introduction to the essential tools of filmmaking. Engaging in practical exercises, participants will acquire fundamental techniques essential for crafting and producing a short film. The initiative spans from foundational narrative development to the intricacies of visual storytelling, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience.

Throughout the workshop, we will offer:
  • Directing the Actors Training (for writers/directors)
  • Technical Training (for those interested in camera, lighting, sound, and editing)

This is more than just a learning experience. Your completed short film could be showcased at DFI's prestigious annual film festival, offering you a platform to share your health-inspired stories with the world!

The workshop is set to start at the end of January. Spaces are limited, so be sure to secure your spot today.
