For our Hilal jurors, we present a thought-provoking programme of short narrative and documentary films that deal with the notion of inclusion and establishing a sense of belonging and security in an ever-uncertain modern world.

Kamal Aljafari
Kamal Aljafari is a Palestinian filmmaker and visual artist known for his exploration of the Palestinian experience through experimental techniques. He studied at the Kunsthochschule für Medien in Cologne and has held teaching positions at The New School in New York and the DFFB in Berlin. His most recent film, ‘A Fidai Film’ (2024), played at numerous film festivals and art spaces and won more th
