Muna, a British-Somali teenager, is caught between her own dreams and family traditions after her grandfather’s passing. While yearning to go on a school trip with her friends, she must also navigate an unexpected mourning period for a family member she barely knew. Through a delicate exploration of grief, culture, and generational connection, Muna discovers that her journey is more intertwined with her grandfather’s than she realised in this coming-of-age story highlighting the complexities of identity and cultural duality.

Warda Mohamed is a British-Somali filmmaker known for exploring the complexities of identity and diaspora in her work. She made her directorial debut with ‘Sorry My Somali Is Not Very Good’, which premiered on BFI Player in 2021.
