Matters of Existence – Short Films Programme (PG-15)
A thought-provoking collection of shorts, each revealing universal human themes like identity, rights, and resilience across cultures. These powerful stories explore how our shared experiences connect us all.
In post-communist Poland, a father and son’s relationship unfolds over 30 years, exploring the clash between dreams and reality.
After the fall of communism, colour television sets flood Polish homes, changing how people perceive their world. But as a father and son’s lives evolve over three decades, they discover that dreams and reality don't always align. ‘Dancing in the Corner’ captures this subtle transformation, using their relationship as a metaphor for Poland’s societal changes. Through heartfelt storytelling, this compelling short reflects on the universal challenge of reconciling expectations with life’s realities.
