Made in Morocco – Short Films Programme
Discover the vibrant voices of Moroccan cinema at the Ajyal Film Festival. In celebration of the Qatar-Morocco Year of Culture, these compelling short films offer an authentic view of Moroccan life and culture.
During Morocco’s programme to replace ageing taxis, driver Kbir remains attached to his classic Mercedes 240, a vehicle rich with memories from a changing era.
Since 2016, Morocco’s effort to modernise public transportation has focused on scrapping its old taxis. Kbir, one of the last drivers clinging to his Mercedes 240, sees his car as a symbol of resilience and a connection to simpler times. As newer, safer taxis gain popularity, this documentary preserves the fading legacy of these iconic vehicles, capturing both the nostalgia and the inevitability of change. The film offers an intimate look at Kbir’s journey and his unique bond with a car that defines an era.
