Yong is an ex-soldier raising his granddaughter Xiang in a bucolic Thai village. When a worldly young teacher sees potential in Xiang, Yong is forced to grapple with letting go and doing what’s best for Xiang.
Yong is a long-retired soldier who lives out his days in a small village in Thailand. There, he raises his granddaughter, Xiang, an 11-year-old girl who shows tremendous promise as a student. With them is their loyal dog, Rambo. Yong cultivates gorgeous roses, something that soothes his PTSD, and dreams of building a home in the canopy of an enormous tree in his front yard. Taking a meditative approach, Sivaroj Kongsakul’s film examines the tender and bittersweet bond between a grandfather and granddaughter.
