Dana J.

Atrach is a Palestinian screenwriter, educator, and storyteller who believes in the power of character-driven narratives to explore universal themes. With a deep love of comedy, world-building, and animation, her work often explores themes of grief, loss, and resilience. Atrach earned her MFA in Screenwriting from UCLA. Her debut short film, ‘Alterations’, and short documentary, ‘Bel Falastini’, are both currently in post-production, funded by grants from the UK and Qatar. She is also co-writing Nora Al-Subai's ‘Al-Dana’ and co-developing an original series, ‘Task Force: Apocalypse!’. As an Assistant Professor at Northwestern University in Qatar, Atrach is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of storytellers. Additionally, as a Script Consultant with the Doha Film Institute, she has worked on developing scripts that have won awards and screened at festivals around the world.
