Joëlle Touma is a distinguished Lebanese screenwriter based in Paris whose work is characterised by award-winning narratives rich with empathy and authenticity.

Drawing on her extensive background as a former journalist, actor, and television host in Beirut, Touma has established herself as a significant voice in contemporary Arab cinema. Her impressive credits include the Oscar-nominated feature 'The Insult,' the acclaimed spy series 'The Bureau' for Canal+, and notable collaborations with renowned directors including Ziad Doueiri ('The Attack,' 'Lila Says') and Rachid Bouchareb ('Just Like a Woman'). She also co-wrote the espionage thriller 'Ghosts of Beirut' for Showtime/Paramount+, a limited series exploring the CIA's complex relationship with Hezbollah. Currently, Touma is developing the feature film 'La Grâce,' to be directed by Sarah Marx, further demonstrating her versatility and commitment to compelling storytelling across both film and television formats.
