With an extensive background in directing, he has crafted numerous short films and feature documentaries that explore contemporary Arab narratives. Since 2007, Abi-Khalil has been actively involved in producing compelling feature documentaries that address pressing social and cultural issues. A dedicated contributor to the Arab film industry, Jad is a founding member of AFLAMUNA (previously known as Beirut DC), a pioneering cultural association for Arab cinema. He has held numerous leadership positions including Chairman of the Board of Directors from 2009 to 2013, Head of the DOCmed Training Program from 2011 to 2013, Beirut Cinema Platform (BCP) from 2015 to 2020, and Good Pitch from 2018 to 2020. Since 2021, he has assumed the pivotal role of Executive Director at AFLAMUNA, guiding the organisation's strategic vision and cultural mission.
