Suzanne, a widow in her sixties, meets Osmane one evening in Beirut. He is young, Black, Sudanese, and an undocumented migrant. She is white, Lebanese of Palestinian origin, and twice his age. They fall in love. Lebanon is on the brink of collapse. Television news and social media continuously broadcast terrifying updates. Never mind—Osmane moves in with Suzanne, as if nothing has changed. While their love provokes a wave of indignation, amidst the surrounding chaos, Suzanne and Osmane resist.
