In post-genocide Rwanda, a survivor devoted to reconciliation must confront her buried trauma and contradictions when her daughter’s unexpected pregnancy reopens the darkest parts of her past.
Rwanda, 2012. Following the genocide against the Tutsi, people’s courts are established to bring about justice and reconciliation. Vénéranda, a survivor, is convinced of the necessity of these trials. Despite pressure, she organises discussion sessions between victims and the families of perpetrators. But when she learns of her daughter’s unexpected pregnancy, she must confront her own contradictions and the dark parts of her past.
