Darine hosts a horoscope show on a politically affiliated radio station in Beirut, living in her imaginary bubble. That bubble is burst when she is asked to present the news and cover the dark reality of a country in crisis.
Darine, a vibrant woman in her thirties, hosts a horoscope show at a politicised radio station in Beirut. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she is asked to replace the news anchor who was fired due to the country’s economic crisis. Darine, who has always sought refuge in her fictional universe, suddenly finds herself confronted with the harsh reality of a country on the brink of collapse.
She quickly becomes accustomed to reading the often harsh and inaccurate news, until one morning, when an old man, Abou Firas, bursts into her life and pulls her into the neighbourhood about which she had spread a fake story that caused a stir. There, she meets Abou Firas’s sharp-witted son, Jalal, the supermarket owners, Mr. and Mrs. El Hout, and the spirited young boy Nassim, each offering a perspective on the community very different from what she portrayed on the news. Gradually, Darine realises how the propaganda she spreads ripples through people’s lives, forcing her to confront the real consequences of her words.
