Images of Beirut shot over six years are shown to a confused traveller who claims he comes from a city with no images. How should the narrator explain what images are?
Was it disobedience, the love of her home, or curiosity that made Lot’s wife—the woman with no name—look back at her burning city and turn into a pillar of salt? Maybe none of these. A poetic reimagining of the biblical tale loosely based on two poems by Anna Akhmatova (1899-1966) and Wisława Szymborska (1923-2012) with guest performer Marie-Gabrielle Rotie.
