As a young woman, the family returns to Qatar, where Laila faces the pressures of high society. At a royal wedding, she meets other young women and begins reconciling with her roots.

During a trip to Udaid, the Inland Sea, Laila disregards her grandmother’s warning and whistles, unknowingly summoning Jaber, a mysterious figure who appears in her dreams. She uncovers a family curse that prevents her from marrying. Despite a failed engagement, Laila’s connection with Jaber deepens, and she seeks answers from a witch. When Jaber warns her that she’s tampering with dangerous forces, he disappears. Desperate, Laila turns to a Sheikh for guidance, but the curse remains unbroken. In a final act of faith, she journeys to Makkah and Madinah, where her pilgrimage leads to a spiritual awakening. The curse is lifted, and upon returning to Udaid, Laila performs her grandmother’s "7 waves" ritual. Jaber reappears and reveals that he was never a jinn—but an embodiment of her own destiny.
