In sleepy Doha circa 2002, a young girl’s Tamagotchi accidentally dies, sparking a desperate search for answers and a sudden confrontation with the inevitability of change.
12-year-old Noura is captivated by her brand-new Tamagotchi, a virtual pet she obsessively cares for. When her mother confiscates the device in a moment of frustration, the digital pet accidentally dies. Unable to accept that her tiny companion is gone, Noura searches for a way to bring it back, first seeking help from her family and then at the local corner store. A neighbourhood shopkeeper shows her the reset button, explaining that she could start the game over, but only by beginning again with a brand-new pet.

Troubled by the implications, she calls a religious advice show for guidance. The Sheikh’s response only deepens her uncertainty, and Noura finds herself unable to press reset. Just as she is accepting that her digital companion may be gone forever, she accidentally overhears a quiet conversation between her parents that reveals more about the adult realities surrounding her than she can fully grasp
