A retired water authority worker is called back to search for a missing pipe that is causing havoc in the quiet village. Meanwhile, he mourns the death of his friend, who has just died of a gas leak.
Another season, another water crisis. For over thirty years, Hassan had been an employee of the Water Authority, but although retired, the new employee is still learning the ropes, so the people of the village look to him to resolve any issues — a thankless job — and he struggles to keep up with the weight of their demands and relentless calls. This year has been especially tough, with very little rainfall, and a drought is brewing on the horizon, while a desperate search for a source pipe is creating craters and bringing traffic in one area of the village to a complete standstill.
