Although Tarek and Laila are both searching for their soulmates, they often cross paths without ever truly meeting. So Salwa, the narrator, decides to step in, setting off a series of playful comic attempts to finally bring them together.
Tarek, 29, and Laila, 22, are lonely people looking for love. Neither has recovered from emotional trauma: Tarek’s girlfriend, Hend, broke up with him without an explanation, and Laila is estranged from her father after he remarried. They have a lot in common but are unaware of it: they’ve had the same dream since they were children, both studied at the Department of Architecture at the School of Fine Arts, live in Downtown Cairo, and each has a pet hamster. Laila and Tarek cross paths several times yet never actually meet, as if some invisible barrier separates them. Even though Sameh, Tarek’s only friend, teaches at the School of Fine Arts and is the supervisor of Laila’s graduation project, he never thinks of introducing them.

Only Salwa, the narrator, notices they have a lot in common and decides to defy fate by setting them up. Salwa is not an ordinary narrator, for she interferes in the events and lies at times. She has rhotacism and a sense of humour. In every episode, Salwa makes a new attempt to bring Tarek and Laila together by interfering in their lives and those of the people they have in common, using the butterfly effect. Each episode will focus on one of the characters that Salwa tries to use to make this happen. Will she be able to defy fate and create a moment that unites them? Or are they themselves not ready to meet yet?
