Made in Mexico - Short Films Programme
After their parents separate, Quique, eleven, and Valentina, five, spend their first Sunday out with their father, and he takes them to meet his other family.
After their parents separate, 11-year-old Quique and 5-year-old Valentina move with their mother into a tiny apartment. On their first Sunday out with their father, he introduces them to his "new family", where they discover that their half-sister is the same age as Valentina. Moving between Valentina's wide-open curiosity and Quique's silent anger, Lau Charles's film pieces together her own childhood memories, ending on a portrait of her real family 25 years later.
