Made in Qatar - Short Films Programme
A mother keeps her home spotless and pushes her teenage son to study for his exam, while hiding the illness that is slowly bleeding through her routine.
A mother hides a worsening case of endometriosis behind the daily rituals of her home; laundry, ironing, cooking. She pushes her teenage son to focus on his upcoming exam and scolds him over stained clothes, unaware that her own body is bleeding through her routine. Drawn from his own mother’s experience, Yazid Taki’s intimate family drama looks at a silent illness from inside the home, where pain can be present every day and still go unnoticed.
