International Short Films Programme 3: Torn Pages
International Short Film Competition

Cairo, 1964. A crowd cheers in the street below, and 12-year-old Alaa recognises his father, home from prison without warning, and not entirely welcome.
Cairo, 1964. Alaa, a 12-year-old boy, and his three younger siblings hear shouting from the street. Outside, a crowd is cheering a man they can barely believe is their father, Ibrahim, home from prison on a day nobody expected. The younger children are delighted. Alaa cannot hide his distrust of the man who vanished from their lives overnight. This tender short holds the distance between a boy and a father he is not sure he wants back.
