Three Venezuelan women cross the border into Colombia to buy a single packet of pasta, a quiet yet searing act of survival amid a collapsing nation.
Set against the backdrop of Venezuela’s ongoing humanitarian crisis, ‘Pasta Negra’ follows three women, grandmother, mother, and daughter, as they embark on a perilous journey across the Colombian border to buy one packet of pasta. Adapted from Karina Sainz Borgo’s short story ‘Tijeras’, the film distills immense collective tragedy into an intimate moment of resilience and tenderness. Shot on 16mm, it captures the emotional and physical toll of migration through restrained storytelling and striking visual poetry.
