This special film showcases and celebrates the work of Qatari filmmakers and those who call Qatar home. The programme presented this year features some internationally shown and critically-acclaimed short documentaries and narratives.
Scarred by a violent attack in Kabul, Breshna flees to Qatar, where she reflects on a journey marked by loss, resilience, and an unbreakable hope for peace.
After surviving a brutal terrorist attack in Kabul, Breshna finds herself forced to leave Afghanistan as it falls deeper into unrest. She arrives in Qatar, carrying with her the scars of her past and dreams left behind. This moving short captures her reflections on hope, resilience, and the longing for peace as she comes to terms with loss and survival. Through her story, the film offers a deeply personal perspective on displacement and the strength needed to seek a new beginning amidst painful memories.

Obada Jarbi
A Jordanian resident of Qatar, Obada holds a bachelor's degree in Mass Communication. He made his directorial debut with the documentary ‘Addicted to Alienation’ in 2016, which began as a university project. His second short film, ‘The Fishermen’ (2017), marked his first project beyond the university setting and was selected for various film festivals. This film was created through the DFI Documen
