Jara is a trailblazing Saudi Arabian rapper who blends modest fashion with rap music, using a blend of languages to address topics such as racism, gender roles, and mental health through lyrical messages.

Dj Mubarak is a visionary Saudi artist and producer making waves globally. His innovative style bridges heritage and contemporary culture, both visually and sonically. In 2023, he placed second in MDLBEAST’s XPERFORM competition, earning a performance slot at Jeddah’s 2024 Formula 1. Over the past year, multiple of his singles have gone viral, amassing millions of streams. He is determined to help connect Arabic music with the world.

Asayel is a rising star in the Saudi music scene, known for her bold fusion of rap, R&B, and pop. Originally from Mekkah and based in Jeddah, she draws on her cultural roots to craft empowering lyrics about self-confidence, resilience, and social justice. Her breakthrough came after winning the XPerform competition at XP, leading to the release of her debut track ‘Asliyah’, which earned 150K views in its first week, cementing her status as a powerful new voice.

S.A.A.D. (Saad Al Suwaidi) and SwayDee (Farhan Al Suwaidi) are a Qatari hip hop duo. S.A.A.D. leads as MC while SwayDee performs as DJ, forming a tight live pairing built around lyricism, rhythm, and delivering a unique hip hop soun in Qatar. They have performed across multiple stages in Qatar and Saud Arabia, including Mianda Collective’s Sol Set.


Roots spotlights emerging musical voices from the region and beyond, offering a stage for talent that reflects the energy and creativity of today’s music scene. This year’s program features distinct showcases, including Sounds of Sudan and Sounds of Saudi, each highlighting powerful new interpretations of traditional styles infused with contemporary influences. Audiences can also look forward to an intimate acoustic set featuring local Qatari performers alongside artists from across the Middle East. From soulful storytelling to genre-blending innovation, Roots invites you to explore the diverse soundscapes shaping the cultural heartbeat of the region and to discover the artists who are defining its future.
