In Algiers, two inseparable teenagers wrestle with brotherhood, friendship, and the weight of absent siblings, their laughter concealing a fragile future shadowed by borders and uncertainty.
Sifou and Mahrez, seventeen and inseparable, spend their days by the port of Algiers, killing time between odd jobs, jokes, and silence. Yet behind their laughter lies the unspoken weight of absent brothers who crossed the sea to Europe. Through stillness and fleeting rhythm, their story reflects the pervasive fatalism of Algerian youth, caught between the wreckage of their neighbourhood and an uncertain horizon. A contemplation on borders both visible and invisible, it captures the fragile line between recklessness and despair.

About the Director

Lucien Beucher
Lucien Beucher is a French director. In 2018, he co-founded Bleu Désert, a trio of music video directors. In the future, he aims to explore longer formats, such as feature narrative and documentary, blending the boundaries between the two.
Mahdi Boucif
Mahdi Boucif is an Algerian photographer and filmmaker. As a documentary photographer, his art is raw, his approach spontaneous, almost instinctive. His main objective: to show a certain vulnerability where we least expect it.
