Bader Short Film Programme I
Young adults have completed the circle of youth and are now taking their own steps on the path of life. Their opinions resonate more strongly and this appealing programme exposes them to cinema as a contemporary art form.
When a sleeping man is awoken by a gunshot, he grabs his rifle and chases the horrible beast he sees in his imagination. But whose footprints is he following?
When a man is awoken by something blasting a hole through his front door, he grabs his gun and follows the tracks of what he imagines to be a gas-guzzling, fire-breathing monster. On and on he goes, across land and sea – but whose footprints is he really tracing? Academy Award-nominated animator Bill Plympton wonderfully illustrates this simple fable that subtly condemns the seemingly endless cycle of violence in the world – a cycle we know all too well.
