Filmmaker Ibrahim Omar returns to his home village to screen films and sets up a football tournament with teams named after great directors, until war ignites across Sudan.
Ibrahim goes back to the village he once left, hoping to screen films. Over a crackling phone line, he asks a friend to send four films by Elia Suleiman, Abbas Kiarostami, Ousmane Sembène and Abderrahmane Sissako. To win the villagers over, he organises a football tournament, each team named after a director. But as he wrestles with custom and bureaucracy, war ignites across Sudan, turning his search for a screen into a battle to stay alive.
