New to a strict 1990s girls’ school and already breaking rules, misfit Aljoury sets her sights on a strange, delicate circle of girls she is desperate to belong to.
In a strict all-girls school in the Gulf during the 1990s, Aljoury is the new student trying to find her place. The school expects everyone to look, act and think the same way, and she does not quite fit in. When students are asked to form groups for a morning assembly presentation, Aljoury tries to join a group of popular girls but is rejected. Things get worse when she is blamed for something she did not do, and the teachers are quick to believe it. With the help of Sara, another outsider, Aljoury tries to win the girls over and join their group, but her plan backfires. In the end, she has to choose between staying out of trouble and speaking up, even if it means standing out more than she already does.
