After the death of their father in Europe, three sisters and three brothers fulfil his final wish: to be laid to rest beside his own father, in his native village in Mauritania. In the Fulani language, “artou” means both “come back” and “the return”. Moving across sky, water and land, Abderrahmane Sissako’s first 360° immersive film follows one family’s journey home, and the return that awaits us all, with the voice of Omar Sy.
