Cycling through Calcutta past the shuttered jute mills where he once worked, a migrant labourer reads aloud an imagined letter to the wife he left behind in his village.
A migrant jute mill worker wanders through Calcutta and its riverbanks, haunted by fragments of a life shaped by labour and loss. As he cycles past the factory gates, he reads aloud an imagined letter to his wife back in their village, remembering her cooking and fearing he will forget how to work the machines. Built from the testimonies of real jute workers, the film becomes an elegy for a community displaced by history, capital and neglect.
