One night, a strange dream awakens Gift. Is it the harbinger of the end? Thrown into the perilous odyssey of the quest for Europe, Gift recounts the memories that led to her departure.
A ray of light reveals Gift, 36, living in the shadows of exile. Still unable to reach Spain, she struggles to survive and send money to her son Michel, whom she left behind in Nigeria. The secret birth of her baby Blossom further complicates her journey towards Europe. Haunted by a dream she interprets as a divine sign, Gift reflects on her path since leaving Lagos in 2017: the abandonment of her son, her time in Agadez, her failed attempt to cross the Moroccan border, and the deep wound left by her own mother’s departure when she was a child. As she retraces her memories, Gift confronts the family patterns and inherited violence that have shaped her life in exile. Through waiting, doubt, confession and survival, the film follows a woman’s intimate search for truth, freedom and inner peace.
