'Zanatany' is a historical drama film revealing the Slaughter of Majunga in December 1976 in Madagascar. The film follows the journey of a dedicated Comorian family man, well-integrated as "a child of the fatherland" and who, for three days, is witnessing the rise of very fierce racism against his fellows.
Ali, a Comorian widower and father of two teenagers, works in a bookbinding workshop in Majunga, Madagascar. One morning, he witnesses a neighbourhood conflict that soon turns into an ethnic one and suddenly worsens when a strike breaks out in his workshop. As he faces the rise in tension between communities, Ali must protect his daughters.
