Marie flees with her children to reunite with her husband in exile. Struggling with displacement, she chooses to return home to southern Lebanon, risking everything to reclaim her life.
Pregnant with her third child, Marie faces an urgent choice, stay in her homeland, separated from her husband Khalil, or escape with her children and reunite her family. She manages to flee, but life in exile is disorienting. Marie gives birth, and her husband finds work in garbage collection. The question of returning home surfaces, a possibility that had not existed before. Khalil knows what awaits him, but Marie insists. Back home, Marie rebuilds her life, and through routine and resolve, she finds a fragile but real freedom.

Pedro Hasrouny
Pedro Hasrouny is a Lebanese filmmaker and researcher from southern Lebanon, based between Lisbon and Beirut. His short, ‘A Mother Goes to the Beach’ (2024), won multiple awards, including Best Short at the Portuguese Academy of Cinema’s Sophia Student Awards. Malu Lins

Malu Lins is a producer from Paraíba, Brazil, and co-founder of Tea on Mars Films. Her work includes the award-winning short film "A Mother Goes to the Beach" (2024), which has screened at over 50 international festivals, and "5 Minutes with Clémentina" (2024), which premiered at KinoForum. She is currently developing the feature film Bayt Rabab. Alongside her work as a producer, she is a Project Manager at FIDA in Estonia, where she contributes to European collaboration in film and media education. She is pursuing a PhD on the impact of AI in audiovisual production and mentors students in Pathfinder, the Joint International BA in Film programme.
