A woman living in a cramped Cairo neighbourhood faces tragedy when her husband takes his own life. Determined to transport his body to their distant hometown near the border, she journeys across rugged terrain, discovering newfound self-reliance and her true self.
A woman in her forties, introverted and isolated, struggles to navigate even the simplest aspects of life. She lives in a cramped neighbourhood on the outskirts of Cairo and is heavily dependent on her husband of over two decades. Her husband works in a sign-manufacturing workshop, promoting products he’s never tasted or experienced. One day, the husband tragically takes his own life, leaving her to deal with the daunting task of transporting his body to their distant hometown near the international border.

In her quest to fulfil this solemn duty, she encounters a cold-hearted mortuary truck driver who, after her desperate plea and offer of all her modest possessions, agrees to assist her. This journey forces them to step into unfamiliar territory, exposing them to aspects of life that are both more forgiving and more challenging, far removed from their accustomed routines. Through this odyssey of mountains and rugged roads, the woman undergoes a profound transformation. She discovers her inner strength, erasing the helplessness that had long plagued her, as she learns to rely on herself without perpetually depending on others for support.
