After a call from his dying mother requesting three mysterious gifts, Younes leaves nightmare-ridden Cairo for Upper Egypt, embarking on a surreal journey where myth, faith, and memory lead him to spiritual rebirth.

Younes, a man in his forties living alone in his luxurious Maadi apartment overlooking the Nile, feels trapped in a nightmare. Despite his success, he is empty inside, haunted by whispers from a forgotten past. One dawn, after his fortieth birthday, he receives a mysterious call from his dying mother in Upper Egypt. She refuses to see him unless he brings her three specific items: a box of malban, kohl, and a keepsake held by Sheikh Abd Rabbo. What begins as a son’s duty becomes a visionary odyssey. As Younes leaves Cairo, the city itself turns against him, streets twist, faces distort, and neon lights pulse like living eyes. Guided by Hasnaa, a mysterious woman who claims she was sent to help him, he journeys through sacred lands where myth and faith blur. He meets saints, spirits, and villagers bound by ancient rituals, confronting his deepest fears and regrets. From haunted mountains to hidden tombs, Younes retrieves the three sacred items, each revealing a fragment of truth about his soul. When he finally reaches his mother, she anoints his eyes with kohl, shares the last malban, and wraps them both in a green shawl, completing his journey of reconciliation and transcendence.
