Salem, a gifted university student, begins to see things no one else can. As his best friend and sister try to help, he finds himself torn between faith and madness.
Salem is a gifted and ambitious university student whose mental state suddenly and mysteriously begins to deteriorate. As he spirals into hallucinations, delusions and breakdowns, his close friend Muath and his sister Huda try everything to help, from a sheikh’s healing sessions to psychiatric care. Moving between past, present and future, Omar Farooq’s film looks with compassion at the stigma of mental illness, and at what it means to stop fighting your own shadow and learn to live alongside it.
