Caught in debts and schemes, a family is dragged into a vicious cycle that tests their unity.
In Beirut, the Fayez family is staying afloat as best they can. Claire, the mother, works in her brother-in-law’s dry-cleaning shop while secretly taking on illegal work at night to repay a hidden debt, deflecting questions about her husband Georges’ sudden disappearance. Mireille, their eldest daughter, is convinced she must leave before it is too late. She moves from one wedding job to the next as a hostess. When her shady boss, Fares, offers her a discreet arrangement abroad, she sees a way out, one she keeps to herself as it begins to slip away. Georges, the father, wears himself out behind the wheel of his taxi to pay for his children’s education and preserve the respect of those around him. A proud man in denial, he clings to a future he still believes possible. One evening, a client, Raymonda, faints in his taxi. Her jewellery suggests an unexpected solution. For the first time, Georges gives in to temptation. Caught in debts and schemes, the family is drawn into a vicious cycle that threatens their unity.
