‘From Ground Zero +’ is a project allowing a young generation of Gazan filmmakers to show the resilience and dignity of civilians living under occupation through striking documentaries.
These films are a collection of short stories that portray the human spirit’s resilience in Gaza amid war and displacement.

About the Director

Alaa Damo
Alaa Damo, a Palestinian from Gaza with a BA in Public Relations, has seven years of experience in the arts. He specialises in therapeutic arts for children and has worked with local institutions to promote creative expression and peace-building through the arts.
Reema Mahmoud
Reema Mahmoud is a Palestinian film director specialising in women’s and youth issues, with more than twenty-two films to her name. She holds a BA in Media and Communication and diplomas in Palestinian Studies and film production.
Mostafa Al-Nabeeh
Mostafa Al-Nabeeh is a Palestinian writer and director who has published novels and plays, directed twenty-five plays for children and adults, and created numerous documentaries.
I’timad Wishah
Based in Gaza, Palestine, I’timad Wishah was the video programme coordinator at the Women’s Affairs Centre (2001–2018). She directs documentary and fiction films on women’s issues, trains others in cinematography and editing, and has led women’s film festivals and student film projects.
