As Mumbai’s bridges replace ferries, a mythical boat and her people fade into memory. Through songs and stories, the Kolis confront the quiet disappearance of their sea-bound heritage.

Mumbai once lived by its tides. Now, its bridges and land reclamation erase the sea’s memory. Through the legend of the ferryboat Sundari and the lives of those who still work the water, filmmaker Sundarshan Sawant captures the vanishing world of the Koli people, Mumbai’s first inhabitants. Told through a woman’s myth, an old ferryman’s struggle, and a child’s wonder, the film mourns a city’s transformation while preserving the culture of a community bound to the sea.
