In 19th-century Liverpool, an unnamed corpse is put on trial in a surreal courtroom drama, where absurd rituals blur justice, truth, and spectacle.
A Kafkaesque courtroom drama unfolds in 19th-century Liverpool as a nameless, past-less corpse becomes the subject of an absurd trial. Crowds gather for the ceremony, where justice, spectacle, and the grotesque intertwine. Dorian Jespers crafts an unsettling meditation on power, absurdity, and collective judgment. With echoes of both surreal theatre and political allegory, ‘Loynes’ confronts the blurred boundaries between authority and performance in a world seeking meaning in ritual.
