Set against the backdrop of the FIFA Men’s World Cup Qatar 2022, Theatre of Dreams tells the untold story of the first Qatar Women’s National Football Team. Through a deeply personal lens, the film explores the courage, cultural defiance, and hidden sacrifices of the team’s captain, who, 12 years later, confronts the emotional cost of being among the first women to break taboos in pursuit of the right to play.

Fatma Al-Ghanim
Fatma Al-Ghanim is a Qatari filmmaker, athlete and entrepreneur. As the captain of Qatar’s first Women’s National Football Team in 2010, she later served in leadership roles across triathlon and cycling bodies, and received the World Triathlon Women’s Committee Award of Excellence.
