A kind-hearted pastor struggles with his faith as he fails to grow his congregation. In secret, he seeks a solution when things seem to go well until they don’t.
A kind-hearted evangelical pastor struggles with his faith as he fails to grow his congregation and begins to doubt his own beliefs. In secret, he seeks a solution in witchcraft with a Sangoma, who connects him with spirits from another realm. They grant Helder powers in exchange for animal sacrifices, enabling him to become a prophet. Things seem to go well—until they don’t. Helder begins to display miraculous powers as his congregation grows. He becomes revered, performing healing rituals. However, dark visions begin to haunt him, leading him back to the Sangoma for guidance. The Sangoma reveals that the spirits now demand human sacrifices. Helder is left conflicted and lost. The congregation still sees him as a prophet, leaving him trapped in his repentance.
